All Star FC Futsal

Futsal is the best way to play indoor soccer, it's a fast paced game that requires quick feet and a quick decisions! The program is run by Leigh Parsons, DHS Girls Varsity Head Coach and sessions will consist of 30 minutes of skill and technique training followed by 30 minutes of playing Futsal. The improvement shown by soccer players who have attended Futsal during the past 7 winter seasons has been very noticeable! Players have gained confidence in their own ability as well as learning when to be an individual and when to be more of a team player.

Quotes from Futsal parents:

"This is truly remarkable! You both have obviously been keenly watching and instructing. I don't even know that much about soccer, but know enough to recognize that your evaluation of my daughter is spot on. Thanks for guiding her through the winter. She has absolutely LOVED it!" - EF

"Watching my daughter on the soccer field this spring is like watching a change from night to day. Her ball handling is much improved, she sees the space of the field, she's passing. She's overall much improved. I accredit much of this improvement to the two of you. Wanted to make sure I passed along the compliment as both her father and I are extremely happy with the improvement we're seeing." - JP

This is a reminder for those plannong on attending that tonight Monday Oct 7th there will be an information meeting at 730pm in the DHS cafeteria about summer overseas travel opportunities for all DSA players. Over 150 Darien players have travelled overseas with FC International over the years and as we look at this years trips first opportunity will be given to all DSA players. This year there are 2 trips on offer. One Easter break to Scotland/England and the Gothia Cup in July to Sweden and Denmark. If you are interested but cannot attend the meeting please email me at jonathanbradley@usa.net. The trips are open to all players 2011 and up.

We have been taking teams to represent the USA in the Gothia cup since 2000 and this year the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden, anticipates more than 80 different nations to be represented at this year’s tournament. The trip will run from July 8-19 and include sightseeing and training/games in Denmark (Copenhagen) in addition to the Gothia Cup Tournament.

The trip to Scotland/England will take place from April 4-12 and there should be very few lacrosse conflicts! This trip was requested by some players and will be a lot of fun. 4 games, stadium tours, sightseeing and attending 2 games.
