Jon is Darien Coaching Director and FC International Tour Director. We hope
everyone is enjoying their Fall season and it is the time of year where we
reach out to all players about our summer trip to the Gothia Cup in Denmark
and Sweden. The trip is July 8-19.

As many of you know every summer, we have been taking teams over to play in
the Gothia Cup in Sweden which is often referred to as the “Youth World
Cup” due to the 90+ different countries that send over teams. The Gothia Cup
is by far the biggest soccer tournament in the world and for any player that
lives for soccer this will be a trip they remember for the rest of their
lives. The teams that we put together are not exclusively from Darien
but DSA players are guaranteed a spot.
Every year we take both boys and girls teams over to represent the USA and our
teams travel under the name FC International. The youngest age group this year
will be 2010 boys and girls and going all the way up to 03 boys and girls.
Over 100 DSA players have travelled over the last 6 years.
In years gone past we have started the process of putting the teams together
just after Thanksgiving and working through March/April. However due to the
feedback we have had from previous families we are going to start the process
now. The main reason for this is to allow players a few extra months of
preparation, practice and fundraising. Last year in total we were represented
by players from 16 different states.

Please do not let cost deter you. There are fundraising
packages, scholarships available and payment plans for the trip and we can work

with you alongside the travel company to make this work.
Thanks
Jon Bradley
