The DSA EPIC Soccer is a program that enables athletes with developmental and physical-challenges to enjoy the full benefits of soccer structured to their abilities. Players will experience the sense of belonging that comes with being a part of a team, as well as the spirit of friendly competition through skills and scrimmages. In EPIC Soccer, scores don’t count - everybody is a winner when we experience acceptance, self-esteem, positive learning experiences, and team spirit.
As many EPIC Soccer players require support to successfully participate in the soccer team experience, they are matched with volunteer High School buddies who become their personal mentors. Players are encouraged to be independent, with buddies close by to lend a hand, support, and enable them, whenever necessary.
High School students interested in becoming buddies, please inquire via email to Jenn Keating - we ask that interested high school students, not their parents, send the initial inquiry with an explanation of who they are and why they would want to be a buddy within DSA’s program.
Our Head Coach and team of volunteer managers and coaches provide positive and constructive direction tempered with patience and understanding. Anyone interested in assisting with coaching should contact Jessica Bennett.
DSA’s EPIC Soccer program is open to challenged players from 5 to 14 years of age in its introductory season. We will plan to expand the program beyond Elementary and Middle School in the future. Players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to all games and practices.
For the Fall season, practices take place at Holmes School on Saturday mornings from September through November (time to be confirmed).
The program fee is $135 for the 2024 Fall season, per player. Scholarships are available upon request.
We encourage our EPIC Soccer to consider joining DLL’s Challenger program for their Winter and Spring seasons to continue the team sports experience!
